Time to get LOST!

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Today, I do not care about an animal seeing its shadow; I care about what’s inside a smoke monster or more specifically what it is as today is the beginning of the end of one of my favorite TV shows, LOST!

Lost-Season-6-Poster

On Twitter people are quoting lines from an awful Bill Murray movie and think they are being wacky and funny, but it’s a little annoying and just needs to stop, because no one cares that much and is Bill Murray even relevant anymore?

Didn’t think so?

So, previously on LOST we saw Juliet pound the hydrogen bomb with a rock and we got a white screen left to wonder, if the plan worked. Did the hydrogen bomb reset the timeline for our castaways returning them to their rightful place in time? Did the bomb not explode? Or did something else entirely happen? Well if you saw the first 4 minutes that were “leaked” (BTW folks ABC totally leaked that for you) you kind of know the answer to this.

The first hour was premiered in Hawaii the other day and based on the Tweets from the premiere the first hour sounds like it’s going to be a blast. There are spoilers out there for the first hour, but I refuse to read them though an annoying co-worker keeps going around saying “I know what happens on LOST tonight. Do you want to know?” I now know that co-worker has the mind of a 7 year-old, a really dumb 7 year-old with no social skills.

Anywho, I know not all of the questions won’t be answered for me in this final season, but here are a few questions I want answered by the end of the season:

1)      What the hell do the numbers mean? I mean they constantly use these numbers, so it has to have some meaning right?

2)      Who or what is the Smoke Monster? Is it another form of the man in black, can’t be because that’s the fake Locke, right? Is it another form of Jacob? Please tell me what it is

3)      Who were the Adam and Eve Skeletons? Were they someone the castaways knew?

4)      I know everyone hated Nikki and Pablo, I sure did, but if the timeline was reset I would like to know what happened to them. Because if it was reset did all the people that died really die? Charlie, Doc Artz, Boone (who was confirmed to be coming back)?

5)      Richard Alpert? Who is he, and what is part in the island mythology?

If those 5 questions are answered then I will be happy with this season. I’ll let the rest of the unknown answers surprise me.

If you are a true LOST fan then I know you probably read Doc Jensen and his ramblings on EW.com. If not Doc and Dan Snierson premiere their first episode of “Totally Lost” today, you can click HERE to view.

So what questions do you want answered in this finale season of LOST? Let everyone know in the comments section.

I'm so LOST!

And by the title I mean OMGWTFBBQ LOST is back and I will be consumed by this season.

As we learned last night this is all about time traveling. There were so many WTF moments last night it was almost hard to keep up with it all. We didn’t know if we were in the past, present, near present or future.

I was chatting with a few people yesterday on Twitter, well I was using TweetDeck beacuse it’s easier to follow, and 4 people that I follow tweeted at the same time something along the lines of, “This Neil character is annoying I hope they kill him off.” Then boom he gets struck with a flaming arrow and he’s dead. Plus one for the producers for doing that so quickly.

We also got to see that Daniel Faraday is Mr. Time Traveler as he showed up in the begining working on building the Dharma Station, The Orchid. Then we see him knock on the back door of the hatch then a yellow hazmat suited Desmond come bursting through the door with a gun. Faraday tells him to fin his mother in England, but before we hear her name the people on the island get shifted again.

Speaking of Faraday’s mother, anyone else think it’s Ms. Hawkings? The lady in who told Desmond not to marry Penny because he will break her heart and that he has to go to the sailing competition and get stranded on the island. If you don’t remember too well then she knows the rules to time travel and how you can’t change fate. Just like Charlie who was suppose to die but kept being saved by Desmond until Charlie realized it’s what is suppose to happen.

What’s up Jun? Is she like the badassed business women or what. Is she truly teaming up with Charles Widmore? Or is she really working with Ben?

What’s going to happen with Hurley and Syaid?

One perdiction I have. Charolette is a dead women. She’s bleeding out the nose and in the preview of the season we see her a dew team with even more blood pouring out her nose.

So what’s everyones theory for this season?

Lost, Solitary, American Idol

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

One week from today!

I. Am. Excited!!!

Oh, what am I talking about?

Well the return of “Lost” of course.

lost

Many of you know I love television and I TiVo way too many shows and watch even more on sites such as Joost, Hulu and network sites like ABC.com.

Latest addiction is a show on the Fox Reality Channel, which I just discovered I receive the other day, called “Solitary.” It’s all sorts of guilty pleasure goodness.

solitary

Basically, 9 people are put into isolation with no contact with the outside world or each other and their actions are controlled by a computer generated voice named VAL, obviously a nod to HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Val puts the contestants through “tests” and “treatments” and analyzes their reactions. The show is billed as a “social experiment” and the test and treatments are meant to break down the contestants.

I did not see season one but I watched the whole “Solitary 2.0” on Hulu and I’m hooked and can’t wait for season 3 that starts on Saturday.

For more information on “Solitary,” head over to the Fox Reality website HERE and catch up on the guilty pleasure-ness of it all.

OK back to “Lost!”

There have been so many teasers lately and to top it all off, while I was working at the mall over the weekend the screens in front of me played a lost promote every 3 ½ minutes. I worked an 8 hour day in a dead mall and watched that promo 137.14 times…approximately.

So, needless to say, I am excited.

Tonight ABC airs last seasons finally, but I will be watching American Idol as I am a fan. No matter what all the naysayers like to say. Most just pop up on websites and just say “This Show SUCKS!!!!!!!! OMGWTFBBQ!!!! This is the liberals/conservatives fault blah blah blah blah blah”

idol

I usually just laugh and roll my eyes, but I roll my eyes a lot so that wouldn’t surprise people. Then I get annoyed as I read because there is a lack of people who can carry on a good conversation about Pop Culture.

So enjoy these TV shows and get ready for next Wednesday for an all new season of “Lost.”

Tomorrow I will do another Remember that show. If you missed last weeks you can click HERE and enjoy the memories.

Remember That Show…Clarissa Explains It All

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Happy Thursday!

Just a little background on this. Right after I graduated college I had a blog. I killed it off in early 2006 but one of the popular things I wrote about was shows from when I was younger so I thought I’d bring some of them over here.

Welcome to the first “Remember that Show: Clarissa Explains It All”

Theme song please!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S8cs8_8XHQ&hl=en&fs=1]

This Nick show was produced at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida that is what it said at the end of each show. Boy have times changed since Nick is out of the Universal area and nothing is produced there anymore. I remember talking a tour of the studios back in 1994 when they were still shooting this. Now it’s a theater with a show from The Blue Man Group.

This show ran for 5 seasons and produced 65 episodes and was about teenage life. Dealing with parents, siblings, friends and feelings Clarissa talks directly to the audience in an attempt to, I can’t believe I’m writing this, explain it all.

It was a good show; after all it ran 5 seasons on a network when 2-3 was usually the max.

Clarissa was of course played by Melissa Joan Hart who because of this show shot up into stardom, well stardom-ish career.

After the show ended she tried some TV movies then came back in “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and made some funny teen movies like “10 Things I hate About You.”

What else to I remember about this show, well her neighbor, Sam, never used the door and always climbed through Clarissa window. Then she had a pet alligator that she kept in her room in a kiddy pool named Elvis.

clarissa

Then there was her brother Ferguson, who was her arch rival, then her mom with a health nut boarder line hippie. Well if memory serves me correctly her parents once were hippies in there younger days. This fact was alluded to several times.

This show was one of many I watched when Nick was, well at least to me, good. I’ll write about more Nick show, so don’t worry about that I was a big “Pete and Pete” fan. Oh, Mr. Tasty where have you gone? Oops! GOt nostalgic  there.

The good news is that “Clarissa Explains It All” is available on DVD and you can enjoy all the Nick goodness it once was.

Order your copy, if you’d like by clicking HERE.

Is It Morning?

Friday, November 21st, 2008

As I write this it’s 9:41am I can’t believe I am up at this point. Last night I didn’t go to bed until 1 and got up at 6:30am like usual. The late bed time was caused by going to the Steelers game.

It was a great game that, if you didn’t know, the Steelers won 27-10. Surprisingly, it didn’t feel cold in the stadium. I thought it felt warmer last night then it did during Sunday’s odd 11-10 (First in the NFL final score) win against San Diego.

Sitting at Heinz Field was like being trapped in a snow globe at times. The sky looked clear then all of the sudden there was snow. It started out slow then got heavy and swirled around then stopped and started again, hence the snow globe analogy.

Other great news from last night, the Penguins beat the Atlanta Thrashers 3-2 WOO! Read Seth Rorabaugh’s recap on Empty Netters.

So it was a good night for Pittsburgh sports.

When I got home I watched “30 Rock” that I recorded on my Tivo. <3 <3 <3 this show. Steve Martin guest starred on last night’s episode, he was funny, but nothing beat Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Jack McBryer. But last night Tracey Morgan made me laugh heard with his Japanese sex doll. I’m not going in more detail about it except to say they did a “The More you know” spoof at the end of the show and it was a highlight for me.

If you missed “30 Rock” watch it on Hulu or NBC.com.

In sad TV news ABC “did not order” additional episodes of “Dirty Sexy Money,” “Eli Stone” and one of my favorite and creative shows “Pushing Daisies.”

I was always hot and cold about “Dirty Sexy Money” and “Eli Stone,” but I always enjoyed “Pushing Daisies.” The cast was great, the stories were always quirky and it was shot in a really intriguing way.  I enjoyed this weeks episode with guest Fred Willard as “The Great Herrmann.” If you missed any of this years episodes watch them at ABC.com.

OK, hopefully sometime this weekend I will post the rest of the vacation stuff. I have all most all the pictures ready just to to get a few of one of the people that was there with me as he as some pictures that I need to tell a complete story.

Until then…

Kristen Wiig

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I have to admit that I am a fan of Saturday Night Live. Their political coverage has always been great. I knoe some people say “Oh is that show still on?”

Well it is and one of the funniest people on there is Kristen Wiig.

Take a look:

Sorry embedding isn’t working so here is the link just copy and paste

That sketch makes me think of my friend jeff and his morning Danactive yogurts, HA!

She also took on Suze Orman and it was hysterical, look it up on youtube or Hulu lazy people. Just wanted to take a moment and recognize of the the funniest overlooked female cast members.

One again embedding isn’t working so just copy and paste this link to see:

It’s finally getting cold here in Pittsburgh. I’m looking forward to the cold as I can break out all my zip up hoodies that I love to wear. Nothing says comfort like a hoodie and jeans!

A Quick One For The Night

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Hey everybody, this is a three day weekend for me as I don’t have to work tomorrow because what I do works on a bank scheduler! Woooooo!

As I caught up with TV this weekend The Soup had on of the funniest “Clips of the Week”

Straight from england it’s “Baby Wee Wee”

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPha5xIt-jY&hl=en&fs=1]

Yeah can you see if they introduced that here. For one, no doll here would have a penis in the US. And it freaking PEES! And not just that it has a wiener, pees, but you tickle the belly and it gets a baby hard-on WTF?!

But since I’m off tomorrow look for a weekend update I will be doing some work writing a paper for entry into grad school. I wrote it 5 times all ready and deleted them all, but I got two odd stories for you as I was approached by too more crazies, one at an ATM machine the other at the mall.

Until then…Later

Work, TV and lights

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Wow it’s all ready Friday! Where had the time gone? It’s a 3-day weekend for me as work is closed for Columbus Day! Woo!

Not much has really gone on. I have been slowly moving to my new desk. I’ve spent a year and a half at my old desk and didn’t realize how much crap I accumulated.

I found stuff from when I first started. It was odd, I kept thinking to myself, “Didn’t I throw this away?”

I guess I am a work pack rat.

Right now I am sitting at my old desk. It’s completely empty except for a notepad and a pen. The reason I am here is because there is no phone at my new desk yet. I know how nice would it be to have no phone at your desk, no one to bother you asking if you can put a rush on a spec, no one to call you and ask the same question 4 different ways seeing if they can get a different answer and finally no one to call you asking if they called the right number. It would be great, but I also have to make a lot of calls so I need a phone.

But if I need something and it’s on my new desk, well I have to take a walk to get it. Luckily it’s not that far and still on the same floor. Though my new desk lacks the wall space of my old desk so I have no room to put my calendar, pictures and other “office toys.”

I’m excited for the 3-day weekend. Maybe I can get stuff done (probably not). I just want to catch up on some sleep, which is sorely needed. I try to get at least 6 hours of sleep at night, but lately it’s been as little as 4 hours.

Last night I watched “Ugly Betty,” which had one of the funniest endings in a while, “Grey’s Anatomy,” the flood was lol to me, “The Office,” how funny is Amy Ryan?  And the Thursday night version of SNL, that wasn’t bad, but not great. But Amy Poehler and Set Myers doing “Really” and “OMG are you Serious” were funny. I also caught the new show “Life on Mars” not bad, I like where it’s going but I don’t think they will be able to drag this show out more then 3 seasons and that’s pushing it.

As anyone seen the art installation yet with Katz Plaza lit up? Wait did that start yet or is that next week? Anywho someone let me know, ok!

Enjoy the weekend (especially if it’s a 3-dayer)!

One Sheep, Two Sheep Ah Ah Ah

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

“Soooooo tired,” that was my first thought this morning.

I went to the Steelers games yesterday and didn’t get home until 2am and got up at 6:30 for work.

What was I thinking?

Well I was thinking, “Stupid 8:30 start time, stupid overtime, stupid traffic.”

It was an ugly game, but a win is a win no matter how fugly it was, right?

I know I said I have another mall story for you, and I do, but not enough time to type it out, plus I am looking for a certain video and since I can’t get unto YouTube here at work I have to wait until I get home. But it’s another crazy random thing that happened at the mall.

I have so much TV to catch up on. “Chuck” and “Prison Break” are sitting on my Tivo waiting for me to play them. If you haven’t watched “Chuck” before give it a look-see as it’s funny, a little endearing in ways and has some fun action. I like to say it’s like the movie “The Net.” Oh, you never saw that movie with Sandra Bullock huh. Oh well it wasn’t great, but it has a similar plot as “Chuck,” but “Chuck is 1000x better.

Basically WATCH “CHUCK”!

I have something to add to this later when I get home; hopefully it’s still there. It’s a local news story about twitter. But it’s something in the video that caught my eye.

OK that’s it for now!

Later!
