Bug Cake Butta

25 08 2008

Ah Monday isn’t it a great day!

Yeah I’m totally lying and I’m tired as hell so let’s turn on the funky flashback music and get you caught up from the last post on Friday until this morning.

So, as I was sitting here at my desk there was some commotion outside and all I see is smoke, next a women running down the parkway to get away from her now in flames VW Bug. It wasn’t an old VW Bug, it may be a few years old and boy did that thing burn fast. There were flames galore but the fire trucks were fast to put it out with foam, no explosion, but it was a nice 15-minute distraction on a slow Friday afternoon.

Saturday, I did a lot of running around after I slept in, and when I sleep in I mean I sleep in until like 11am. I figure I get up so GD early in the morning every other day of the week I deserve to catch up on all that missed sleep at some point.

I went to The Waterfront to pick up a birthday present for my sister. I swear everyone was having a carwash. There was one on the way down at the storage place, one at Steak and Shake and some fire truck thing going on in the parking lots. I had no clue what it was supposed to be as it just looked like the trucks parked with the ladders up and people sitting around. I guess it was the firemen’s version of a car cruise.

While shopping for my sister’s birthday present I ran into my mother of all people. It’s not like I see her everyday, but I found it odd I ran into here there at that time, but apparently she saw me walking into Bed, Bath & Beyond (Watch out for the Beyond section!) and decided to stalk me or something, but she wanted to go to lunch and who passes up free lunch?

So after I got my sisters present (She’s practical and wanted a hand held vacuum so I got her the Dirt Devil Kone, in case you wanted to know) we ran into my aunt, uncle and cousin in the parking lot (What’s up with running into family all the time?) so after a brief chat we had to walk to Chick-Fil-A for lunch.

The reason I say walk is because they had their parking lot closed of for “Customer Appreciation Day,” nice thought but if you appreciate your customers don’t make them walk across the street to eat at your establishment.

After that I went to work at the mall, which is seeing more stores shutter by the day. I like how Wilson’s Leather disappeared over night. Craziness I say. So that was the rest of my Saturday. Sunday we celebrated my sisters birthday, she want Crab Legs so my mom made them. I hate seafood, so I had chicken (as usual) and salads, with awesome bacon dressing, you just don’t know how good it is, it’s addicting let’s just say that (How many times can I put “just” into a sentence sheesh that’s bad). Then the cake was from Coldstone’s and it was, what else, cake batter ice cream, yummo!

WARNING A RANT IS COMING UP

I said yummo, before Rachel Ray turned the word into bastardized corny form, oh yeah, I don’t like her, and she’s always bothered me for some reason. Just like Giada, also from the Food Network, who tries to turn every word into some Italian saying, but I like her, I don’t like how she talks or tastes things. If you’re going to taste something, stick more than a crumb in your mouth, thanks!

End mini Food Network Rant, I don’t want to go into this years “Next Food Network,” Paula Dean or the dreaded “Neely’s.”

Ok I need to stop. Maybe one more post later today, we’ll see if anything interesting goes on.

Later!
